"Aztro" is a clothing line that I started as a way to inspire young people to follow their dreams. I see too many times how indiviual's, including member's of my family, succumb to the traditional 9 to 5 job and living paycheck to paycheck. I refuse to do that. It's not that I do not have any work ethic, its that I have too much work ethic. In recent year's I have held two different job's that lasted no more than 3 months each. They were pretty simple jobs, a cashier for CVS Pharmacy and an equipment clerk for a party supply rental company, but what I was doing was not fulfilling to me. I did not wake up every morning excited to work. I never liked making transaction's at the cash registar, or taking 50lb table's and chair's to the back of trucks. That's when I started drawing clolthes. It started off as a hobby, but for some reason when ever I showed someone what I had drawn they really liked it. This confused and inspired me.
Watching my family struggle financially alway's hurt me. We never really had the best clothes, shoes, or cars but we somehow made it. Growing up I never lived in the same house for more than a year because of my parent's constantly changing jobs. At a young age I promised my mother that I would buy her a big house and an expensive car to make her happy. Im sure just about every adolecent promise's their parents that but it's those who believe in themselve's and continue to persue that dream who can actually turn it into a reality. My father is big on ambition. He told me once "you're an ambitious cat and I like that" (in regards to my clothing line) that was the first time that I was congradulated on how much I wanted somthing. His words still repeat in my head everyday.
When my buisness becomes successful I will give back to communities and schools to show people that I am far from selfish. I also plan to make appearance's at events ands schools to speak and try to inspire the youth. Maybe a role-model around their age can inspire them more than a role-model their parents ages. Hopefully my success will also help keep young men and women away from gangs and drugs as an alternative. I believe everyone is born with a mission and ambition, it's those of us who choose to use it and persue it that will be the happiest and most successful in the future.
Some of my greatest influences are from the designs of companies such as Ed Hardy, Sean John, RocaWear, Bape, and my personal favorite Coogi.

Enjoyed reading this one. If only more young people aspired to rise above where they are now instead of using it as an excuse. I have many dreams myself (that I won't go into lol), and there's really nothing that's going to stop me from getting to where i want to be. 9-5's ARE unfulfilling, ugh! I hope your clothing line does well, I'm definitely on the look-out.
